We heartily appeal to the government, organizations, media, and civil society to immediately search for the rapist and keep him in custody and ensure the safety, rehabilitation, and justice of the victim, as well as to take stern legal action against the perpetrator of rape of a woman with multiple disabilities.

The Nepal Disabled Women’s Association (NDWA) today organized a program and made public the analytical report of the recent rapid study on the effects of COVID-19 on women with disabilities.

Even within the disability, the condition of women is deteriorating. There is discrimination at home, then there is a discriminatory system by the society and the state has become another obstacle. At the same time, due to the spread of gender discrimination and patriarchal thinking and values, women with disabilities have become more marginalized and are facing domestic violence, humiliation, various kinds of stigma and opportunities.

Nepal Disabled Women’s Association is conducting a rapid survey to understand the impact of COVID 19 on women and girls with disabilities. This research aims to analyze the situation of women and children with disabilities during the Coronavirus epidemic.
