Newly elected committee taking an Oath

The 24th General Assembly and 12th Convention of the Nepal Disabled Women Association NDWA has elected an 11-member working committee, with Meena Poudel as the newly appointed chairperson.

The key office bearers include Shobha Bista Khatiwada as vice-president, Dev Kumari Parajuli as general secretary, Sunita Thapa as secretary, and Deepa Khanal as treasurer.

The committee members are Eliza Chapagain, Chijmaya BK, Rampyari Karki, Uma Khanal, Sirata Thapa Magar, and Indira Bista. The committee will serve a three-year term.

The event was inaugurated by Anita Lama, Deputy Mayor of Budhanilkantha Municipality. During the closed session, General Secretary Dev Kumari Parajuli presented the annual progress report and outlined future programs, while Treasurer Shobha Bista Khatiwada shared the financial report and proposed budget for the upcoming year.

Addressing the session, former chairpersons Rama Dhakal, Nirmala Dhital, immediate past  chairperson Tika Dahal, and newly elected chairperson Meena Poudel urged members to avoid divisions within the disability movement and emphasized the NDWA’s critical role in advancing the rights of women with disability. They called on the leadership to further strengthen and support the movement.
