On 30th July 2025, the Nepal Disabled Women Association (NDWA) successfully conducted a Validation Workshop on the Mapping of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and Cooperatives in Chitwan. The event brought together 47 participants representing a diverse range of organizations actively engaged in community development and disability inclusion.

During the workshop, NDWA presented the key findings and methodology of the mapping process. This was followed by interactive discussions, allowing participants to validate the information and offer critical insights to refine the outcomes. Representatives from OPDs, SHGs, and cooperatives contributed valuable perspectives based on their ground-level experiences, ensuring the mapping results truly reflected local realities.

As part of the event, NDWA also launched newly developed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, aimed at strengthening advocacy efforts and raising community awareness around disability inclusion and empowerment.

The workshop emphasized the importance of evidence-based planning, mutual learning, and cross-sector collaboration to drive impactful change. The validated findings from this workshop will contribute to the finalization of the mapping report, which will support the ongoing FAIDA project, currently being implemented across all seven palikas of Chitwan since 2024.
