Nepal Disabled Women Association (NDWA) discussed with the municipalities of Lalitpur and Kathmandu the situation of gender-based violence and possibilities for collaboration with. In this regard, NDWA organized a discussion in Godawari municipality of Lalitpur and Tarakeshowre municipality of Kathmandu.
During the discussion, there raised the issues like current situation of gender-based violence, the priorities for intervention, possibilities of collaboration, and the sectors. As well as support mechanisms for the survivors and access to justice situations were also discussed during the meeting. At the end of the discussion, both the municipalities and the NDWA agreed that there is so much potential to work together for the elimination of gender-based violence. Deputy mayors of both municipalities participated in the discussion and shared their experiences.
OPDs and CSOs representatives who are actively working in gender-based violence and other right-based activities also participated in the program.
