Refresher training for women with disabilities

Nepal Disabled Women Association NDWA has organized refresher training on the international treaties, conventions and laws made by the government of Nepal for the rights of persons with disabilities. NDWA organized this training on 4th and 5th of March for its members and representatives of the OPDs.

More than 30 participants including general members of NDWA and representatives from organizations working for the rights of women and persons with disabilities from the three districts of the valley including Gorkha, Kavre and Dolakha.

The NDWA has organized this refresher training to increase the capacity of its members and OPDs member   by informing and empowering them about the international conventions signed by the government of Nepal and the national laws and regulations related to disability rights.

In the training, the participants were informed about the Disability Rights Act 2074, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), SDG and other conventions signed by Nepal. The training was facilitated by Murari Kharel, Secretary, National Human Rights Commission.
