A workshop on legal awareness for the persons with disabilities of Budhanilkantha Municipality was completed on June 24, 2023.

The program was organized by Ward No 8 Budhanilkantha municipality in coordination with the Nepal disabled Women Association (NDWA)

Information was given in the interaction program about the types of disabilities, service facilities available to person with disabilities, and the rights guaranteed by law for people with disabilities. In the interaction, the participants raised the issues that the service facilities provided to the person with disabilities were not provided free of charge as mentioned in law and the regulation. The participants responded that they got useful information about disabilities by participating in the program.

The chief guest of the program was   Jayaram Thapa a member of Bagmati provincial Parliament. The program was facilitated by Meena Paudel, Vice chairperson, Dev Kumari Parajuli, General Secretary and Sunita Thapa, Secretary of NDWA.

65 people including person with disabilities and ward officials participated in the program.
