Marked IDPD day

The 33rd International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed on December 3, 2024, under the national theme, “Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future.”

To mark the occasion, the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, in collaboration with the National Federation of the Disabled Nepal (NFDN), organized a rally led by Minister Nawal Kishore Sah. Starting from Shanti Batika in Ratna Park, the rally proceeded to Bhrikuti Mandap, culminating in a formal program.

The event saw the active participation of leaders from various organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) and government agencies, including the Nepal Disabled Women’s Association (NDWA). Similarly, Tarakeswar Municipality commemorated the day with its own rally, which traversed multiple wards before concluding at the municipal office.

The mayor, deputy mayor, ward representatives, local advocates for disability rights, students, and civil society members joined the rally to demonstrate solidarity and support.
