The Nepal Disabled Women Association NDWA has organized a Two day refresher training in collaboration with CBM Global.
This second phase training organized on 7th and 8th of May to enhance capacity of its members and representatives of the OPDs about the international treaties, conventions and laws made by the government of Nepal for the rights of persons with disabilities.
More than 25 participants including general members of NDWA and representatives from organizations working for the rights of women and persons with disabilities from the three districts of the valley including Rautahat, Mahottari, siraha, Kanchanpur, Banke, Sindhuli, Makawanpur, Dhading, Kathmandu and Kavre.
The NDWA has organized this refresher training to increase the capacity of its members and OPDs member by informing and empowering them about the international conventions ratified by the government of Nepal and the national laws and regulations related to disability rights.
In the training, the participants were informed about the Disability Rights Act 2074, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (
UNCRPD), UDHR, CEDAW, SDG and other conventions. Participants exercise in a group about the provisions of the convention and how they are applying during the advocacy work.
