Nepal Disabled Women Association has prepared an awareness poster for disability-inclusive COVID-19 response. This poster has been prepared to make the COVID response more disability-inclusive at a time when the corona epidemic is growing rapidly in the world and its impact is still being felt in Nepal.
NDWA recognizes that there was a serious mistake or ignorance from the Parliament Itself while making the social protection act that resulted in people with disabilities not being eligible for social protection allowance. Thus, we request all the stakeholders to amend that act and also continue providing the facilities to the existing beneficiaries.
We demand to facilitate the distribution of fourth installment of social protection allowance until the Social Protection Act 2075 and its regulation are fully amended to address this issue.
Nepal Disabled Women Association (NDWA) has issued this appeal on behalf of whole disability community (with special focus on women with disabilities) regarding the current ongoing efforts of all stakeholders regarding the Government in the fight against Corona Virus (Covid 19).
NDWA conducted its 10th annual general assembly on Feb 22, 2020 in Kathmandu. The general assembly elected new executive members for 2 year term.
