NDWA discussed with the local level representatives

To include issues of women with disabilities from the ward level of the local government Nepal Disabled Women Association NDWA organized an interaction with the ward representatives of Kathmandu Metropolitan city. With the aim of addressing the concerns of women with disabilities in the policy, program and budget of the metropolitan city, the NDWA has organized an interaction program with the ward chair persons and ward members and OPDs of Kathmandu Metropolitan city and other officials from the municipality.

During the interaction, the NDWA handed over 21 points of memorandum to the ward chairperson and ward members to be covered in the next fiscal year (2080/081) and discussed these issues for commitment.

The ward chairperson and ward members committed to include these issues in their plans for next fiscal year. They also express gratitude to the NDWA to raise the issues of person with disabilities in right time as now local levels are preparing for the policy and program for next fiscal year engaging with the stakeholders.  Thirty-four participants including ward chairperson and ward members of kathmandu metropolitan city, members of Disability Coordination Committee, representative from social development department and OPDs members of the metropolitan city.
