The 33rd International 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign kicked off on Monday, November 25, 2024, under the national slogan “Our Commitment: Solidarity to End Gender-Based Violence.” To commemorate the event, the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens organized a rally on Monday morning, which saw participation from various organizations. The rally began at Maitighar and concluded at Bhrikuti Mandap, where it evolved into a program. Over 20 organizations, including the Nepal Disabled Women’s Association, took part in the rally.

The event highlighted the importance of enforcing the Constitution of Nepal 2072 BS and Article 38 regarding women’s rights, alongside the state’s international commitments and the necessity for effective law implementation. Participants chanted slogans advocating for the respect of unpaid care work, the provision of effective, accessible, quality, and gender-responsive services to enhance justice for survivors, the urgent elimination of all forms of discriminatory policies, practices, and values, and the call for a campaign for social transformation that begins at the community level and extends to the national level.
